About Alice

Alice Bass is a graphic designer with roots that reach back to the late 1980s,
a time when design was hands-on, tactile, and built piece by piece.
Today, she blends that traditional foundation with modern tools, creating work that feels both thoughtful and enduring.
Now based in the Lac du Bonnet area, Alice continues to design with the same care and attention she’s carried throughout her career inspired by nature, community, and a lifelong connection to the creative process. Much of her work is created in her home workshop, where she’s often joined by her Border Collie, Jack, who keeps a watchful eye on the day’s projects and provides steady company along the way.

In Her Own Words
I studied Graphic Arts at Red River College and graduated in 1991, beginning my career in the early days of paste-up and bindery when layouts were assembled by hand and every detail required patience and precision.

Those early years shaped how I approach design to this day.
In 2006, I started Graphics Girl, running the business out of my 1928 home in the West Kildonan area. It was a space full of character, and a perfect place to grow something creative from the ground up.

In 2022, I made the move to the Lac du Bonnet area to be closer to family and, in many ways, closer to where I started. Having grown up in the country, being surrounded by nature again feels like coming full circle.
That sense of place, history, and craftsmanship continues to influence everything I create.
